Week 5

I firstly started off in 2nd class and we were doing art! All the children had made clay models in pairs two weeks before and had to paint them today. I helped set up all the tables with paint and everything. I went around asking the children about their clay model and we were all finished painting in an hour. After we had to take down the number of books each child read over the past week for the Readathon. I got to write down on the board the number of books they each read and overall the class read 385 books!
We then had little break and after I was back with the same class for another few minutes. The children were learning how to use a ruler and drawing lines different lengths. Next I was in 3rd class and the class were doing plans for stories.

For the next few minutes before big lunch I went to 6th class to give them a talk on secondary school. They all had a lot of questions and I think I helped a lot of them for what was ahead of them in the next few years. They were all very thankful for my help and I enjoyed telling them about it.

After big lunch I was back in 3rd class and they were doing maths this time. They were doing area in maths and all got little white squares with holes in them. They got plastic pins and used the pins to show the area of different numbers in the white squares. After maths we were doing english comprehensions. Some people in the class had harder questions depending on their level. For the rest of the day we played little maths games and other fun games.

I enjoyed the day a lot and it was my favourite day so far in Scoil Mochua work experience. I am sad that it will be soon over but I am glad that I got to do work experience there.
